Set Your Status To Out of Office

MEET THE FOUNDER

Hiya, I’m Maya!

It all started in a tiny cabin in Upstate, New York…two weeks before the COVID-19 pandemic.

Out of Office is rooted in the belief that setting your status to OOO, whether that looks like using your PTO for an extended weekend trip or setting aside five minutes for a breathing exercise in the comfort of your own home, can have a vital impact in nurturing a relationship with the world around you as well as cultivate a stronger connection with yourself. We hope this space provides a healthy dose of escapism and inspiration.

Behind Out of Office Magazine

Creator, Editor In Chief

Maya is an east-coaster dreaming of the sunshine and warmth of the west. Driven by two things: travel stories (both personal and shared by loved ones and anyone she meets during her travels) and frustration with the lack of representation in wellness, food, and travel, Maya created Out of Office Magazine: a home for different faces, places, and spaces.

OUR ETHOS

Unity through diversity

What we’re all about

Community: Each interview, recipe, travel journal, wander guide, photo essay, and wellness practice shared strengthens the foundation of our community and creates a space for celebrating unity through diversity.

Connection: We believe in honoring and embracing the moments we experience while traveling. Each conversation overheard at a local cafe, chat with a bartender or cuisine you taste is a window into someone’s culture, history, and passions. While we encourage you to immerse yourself in these spaces, we ask that you do it responsibly and mindfully.

Living In The Right Now: Life is nothing but a series of moments ebbing and flowing. Focusing too much or solely on the destination can cause you to miss out on all of the little gems along the way. Remember, the journey is the inspiration.
